Sawyer’s started business in 1993. The first 7 years, we were involved primarily in tree trimming and tree removal work. In 1999, we obtained our first larger contract with the City of Saskatoon, a pruning contract for 1,100 street trees in College Park and Holliston neighborhoods. We also expanded our tree services geographic market to include Prince Albert and cottage country in Northern Saskatchewan.
In 1997, we began to do tree services work in the 4-Lakes region of Fort Qu’Appelle. And from there, we opened a satellite operation in Regina. Sawyer’s has been serving this well-treed city of Regina now for 22 years. We also then began doing residential and town/city work in Southwest Saskatchewan, East Central Saskatchewan, Southeast Sask, and West Central Sask.
In 1999, Sawyer’s started our Landscape Construction division. Our first 6 years, we were primarily focused on revitalizing existing landscapes and in the design/build sector for new landscapes for residential properties. In 2005, we became involved in commercial landscape construction, and in 2007, we began contract work in the building of new parks, and renovation of existing older parks in the municipal sector and land development sector. Our Snow & Ice Management division began in 2006, and our Landscape Maintenance division followed in 2008.
Sawyer’s is proud to be the only business in Saskatchewan involved in all 4 service sectors – as listed above – in Arboriculture (Tree Services), Horticulture (Landscape Maintenance), Construction (Landscape Design/Build), and Snow-Clearing (snow and ice maintenance). This aspect uniquely positions our company to offer One-Stop Shopping in “outdoor space management”. Many of our clients appreciate the fact that we offer four seasons of service –all under one umbrella. And, whatever the service or whomever the customer, we continue to hold strong to our motto, “When you call Sawyer’s, rest assured that the job will be done right.”
